Privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
MileClub helps groups of motorcycle riders plan trips, ride together and share costs. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it and how you control it. It applies to the MileClub app and to mileclub.app.
The short version: we collect what the app needs to work, your live location only while you are on a ride you started or joined, and nothing for advertising. We never sell your data.
Who we are
MileClub is operated by Rastu Singh, India ("we", "us"). Contact: privacy@mileclub.app.
What we collect and why
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name and email address | When you sign in with Google or an email link | To create your account and show your name to people on your trips |
| Bike model and fuel range (optional) | If you add them | To plan fuel stops that suit everyone in the group |
| Trip content: itineraries, suggestions, votes, comments, checklists, polls | When you or your group add them | To run the shared trip plan |
| Expenses and receipt photos | When you add them | To split costs and settle up |
| Precise location, including while the app is in the background | Only between the moment you start or join a live ride and the moment it ends. A notification stays on screen the whole time. | To show you on the group map and to raise alerts when someone falls behind, stops or leaves the route |
| Rider alert (SOS) events | When you trigger one | To send your alert and last position to your ride group and the people following your ride |
| Photos you add to a trip book | When you add them | To build the trip book you choose to keep or share |
| Crash reports and basic diagnostics | When the app crashes or an error occurs | To fix bugs. These do not include your location history. |
We do not collect contacts, call logs, SMS, health data or advertising identifiers. We do not show ads.
Location, in detail
- MileClub reads your location only during a live ride. Starting a ride is always your choice, and you can end it or leave it at any time.
- Your position is shared with the other people on that ride, and with anyone holding that ride's follow link (for example family you sent it to). The follow link stops working when the ride ends.
- Raw position history is deleted automatically 72 hours after the ride ends. If you keep a trip book, it stores a simplified route line, not your second-by-second positions.
- Speeds are never ranked or published.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the people you ride and plan with, and with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract:
- Google (Firebase sign-in, crash reporting, Google Maps and Places), to sign you in, show maps and search for places. When you view a map or search, your device sends that request to Google under Google's privacy policy.
- Anthropic, which provides the AI that drafts trip plans, daily briefings and reads receipts. We send only the trip details needed for the request. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- Cloudflare and our hosting provider, to run the website and servers.
We may disclose data if the law requires it. We will never sell personal data or share it for advertising.
Where data is stored
Our servers may be located outside your country. Where data moves across borders we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses for the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.
How long we keep it
- Live-ride positions: 72 hours after the ride ends.
- Account and trip content: while your account exists.
- When you delete your account, your profile is deleted within 30 days. In shared trips your name is replaced with "Former member" so the group's plan and cost totals still add up.
- Backups roll over within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
You can see and edit your data in the app, leave any trip, and delete your account in the app under Settings or from our website. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act or California law), you may also have the right to access, correct, port or erase your data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email privacy@mileclub.app and we will reply within 30 days.
Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (running the app), your consent (live location, which you can withdraw by ending the ride), and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and fixing bugs.
Grievance officer (India)
Rastu Singh, grievance@mileclub.app. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
Age
MileClub is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
All traffic is encrypted. Access to production data is limited and logged. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever have a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
